How to Use Plesk Panel

Plesk is one of the most popular web hosting control panels, offering an easy-to-use interface to manage your websites, domains, emails, and more. If you’re using a hosting service like GetSiteUp, this guide will help you get started.

✅ Step 1: Accessing Plesk Panel

Go to the URL provided by your hosting company (e.g., https://yourdomain.com:8443)

Log in with the username and password given to you.

✅ Step 2: Overview of the Dashboard

Once logged in, you’ll see your Plesk Dashboard. Key sections include:

  • Websites & Domains: Manage domains and install WordPress

  • Email: Set up business email accounts

  • Files: Access file manager and upload website files

  • Databases: Manage MySQL or MariaDB databases

  • SSL/TLS Certificates: Add free or custom SSL for your domain

✅ Step 3: Installing WordPress

Go to Websites & Domains > Click “Install WordPress”

You can choose one-click install or custom setup.

Cloud-based installers like Softaculous may also be available.

✅ Step 4: Creating Business Email

Navigate to Mail > Create Email Address

Set up your name@yourdomain.com email and password

You can access webmail directly or connect it to Gmail/Outlook

Use the File Manager under “Files” to upload, edit, or delete your site content.

Alternatively, connect via FTP if needed.

Go to your domain settings > Click on “SSL/TLS Certificates”

You can use Let’s Encrypt to get a free SSL certificate with just one click.

  • Use the Backup Manager to create or schedule backups

  • Enable Fail2Ban, firewall, and mod_security under the Tools section for added security
