How to Use FileZilla to Access Your Hosting Files via FTP

Managing your website’s files via FTP gives you more control and flexibility. FileZilla is a free and reliable FTP client that works perfectly with GetSiteUp’s Plesk hosting. Follow these steps to connect:

✅ Step 1: Download and Install FileZilla

✅ Step 2: Get Your FTP Credentials from Plesk

  1. Log in to your Plesk panel

  2. Go to Websites & Domains → Select your domain

  3. Click on FTP Access

  4. Copy the following:

    • FTP Host (e.g., ftp.yourdomain.com)

    • FTP Username

    • Set or reset the FTP password if needed

✅ Step 3: Connect to FTP Using FileZilla

Open FileZilla and enter the following details:

  • Host: ftp.yourdomain.com

  • Username: your FTP username

  • Password: your FTP password

  • Port: 21

Then click Quickconnect.

✅ Step 4: Navigate and Manage Files

  • Left Panel: Your local computer files

  • Right Panel: Files on your hosting server

  • You can drag & drop files between both panels

  • Right-click files to rename, delete, or set permissions

✅ Step 5: Security Tips

  • Never use public Wi-Fi without encryption

  • Disconnect from FTP when not in use

  • Change your password periodically
