✅ Step 1: Backup Your Existing Website
Before starting the migration, make sure to back up your website completely:
-
Download files via FTP (e.g., FileZilla)
-
Export your database (via phpMyAdmin or backup plugin)
Or use a plugin like All-in-One WP Migration or Duplicator for full site backup.
✅ Step 2: Install WordPress on GetSiteUp
From your GetSiteUp Plesk panel, install WordPress with one click using Softaculous or the native WordPress Toolkit.
➡ This will prepare your hosting space to receive your website files.
✅ Step 3: Upload Your Backup Files
-
If you’re using a plugin (like Duplicator), install the same plugin on your GetSiteUp WordPress installation
-
Upload the backup file and run the restoration process
If you’re migrating manually:
-
Upload files via FTP to /httpdocs/ directory
-
Import database using Plesk > Databases > phpMyAdmin
-
Update wp-config.php file with new database credentials
✅ Step 4: Point Your Domain to GetSiteUp
Update your domain’s DNS records to point to GetSiteUp nameservers:
ns1.getsiteup.com
ns2.getsiteup.com
Propagation may take 1–24 hours.
✅ Step 5: Test and Finalize
-
Visit your site to make sure everything is working
-
Reinstall security plugins, cache settings, etc.
-
Set up your email and SSL from the Plesk dashboard
