How to Manage PHP Versions for Each Website in Plesk

Managing the PHP version per website is crucial for compatibility, speed, and security. If you’re hosting multiple WordPress websites under one Plesk account with GetSiteUp, here’s how to assign different PHP versions to each domain or subdomain.

✅ Step 1: Log in to Plesk

Go to your Plesk panel: https://yourdomain.com:8443

Enter your login credentials.

✅ Step 2: Go to “Websites & Domains”

From the left menu, select Websites & Domains

Find the domain or subdomain you want to manage

✅ Step 3: Click “Hosting Settings”

Under the selected domain, click the Hosting Settings link.

✅ Step 4: Change the PHP Version

Scroll to the section titled Web Scripting and Statistics

Look for the PHP support dropdown

Choose the PHP version you want (e.g., PHP 7.4, 8.0, 8.2, etc.)

💡 You can also choose between FPM application served by Apache or FastCGI under “Handler”.

✅ Step 5: Click “OK” or “Apply”

Save your changes.

Your website will now use the selected PHP version.

✅ Bonus Tip: Check Compatibility

If you’re unsure which version to use, check your theme/plugins’ requirements or use PHP Compatibility Checker plugins in WordPress.

🎯 You’re Done!

Now, each of your websites can run with the ideal PHP version for their specific needs.
